Winter
by Eva Getman
Snow blanket
Winter's sleep
December wind,
A bedtime song...
Swish and blow,
To and fro,
And swish and blow again
Winter's Dream
upon the world
Dancing snowflakes
Singing stars
Swish and blow,
To and fro,
And swish and blow again...

First Winter's Morn
by Eva Getman
The first snow has fallen
The world is asleep
No wind is yet astir
The sun begins to rise
Snow gilt mountains turn rosy-pink
Shadows turn to blue
The young maple wears a frosty gown
when she goes to dance
with the prince of the pines
in a dashing winter suit
The sun is up and shining bright,
glowing with a million rainbows,
mirrored in the snow...

Isn't this mallard handsome with his feathers
lighted up? I'm going to name him Arathorn. |
|
 |
This mallardess (I made up that word) is so lovely!
I think her name will be Cornflower. |
|
ICE! ICE! ICE! |
 |
A flash, a cold breeze, and there it lay...
a bolt of pure lightning trapped in ice.
|
|
 |
At last! The final phase of the adventure.
If they could cross the ice tree forest, they
would reach their destination....

This pond is amazing! I don't know how the ice
got this rainbow of color but it is not from thinness.
I walked on the ice for a good fifteen minutes
and nothing cracked. |

We saw this stump near a pond and think it was made by a beaver.
There were many more stumps like this one by the pond. |

This young bird is stocking up on food
underneath the bird feeder. |

 |
I think I'll call this squirrel Chap because
he looks like a friendly chap. |
|
 |
Hey, this guy looks familiar.
|
|
 |
I can't think of the right word
to describe this photo. Can you? |

🎺 MAKE WAY FOR THE PRINCE OF THE EAGLES! 🚩

| I CLAIM THIS ICE IN THE NAME OF ALL CROWS!! |

Huh? If you howl to a wolf, what do you say to a coyote?

I never thought that I would actually see a swan...
